Castel – Creative Living
Community-driven hostel and co-living space in Penela, with a cultural programme on its square.
Story
Castel was built on three pillars: Co-Existing (accommodation in dorms, family and private rooms, including a room adapted for reduced mobility), Co-Eating (a hostel bar with local products) and community experiences that connected travellers with local residents through tradition, art and shared living. It hosted Castel Creative Fest in 2022 and the Praça das Culturas summer programme in 2023.
